How can I treat diaper rash?

Treat wash

During every diaper change, wash your baby’s bottom with mild soap and warm water (if there is no feces, only use warm water), rinse and pat dry. If the skin is very irritated and sore, a warm bath may be a less painful option.

Treat cream protect

Help protect and treat the area by applying a barrier cream with zinc oxide (like Zincofax® products) every time you change a diaper.

If you use a diaper rash cream, wash it off with mild soap and water after each change and reapply.

Don’t share ointments between babies. Once you have touched the affected skin, be sure not to put your fingers back in the jar; if you need more cream, use another finger.

Treat using alcohol-free

Be sure to use alcohol-free and unscented baby wipes to limit stinging and prevent your baby’s skin from drying out.

Treat not use powder

Do not use baby powder or talcum powder. These do not protect against diaper rash and can cause friction and irritate your baby's skin.

Treat diaper off

When possible, keep your baby’s diaper off for short periods. Exposing your baby’s bottom to open air will heal the rash faster and help your baby feel better.

Treat contact doctor

If the diaper rash persists or worsens, do not hesitate to contact your doctor.

How can I help prevent diaper rash?

The best way to prevent diaper rash is to change your baby’s diaper frequently, particularly when your baby has diarrhea. If your child has diarrhea, you can help prevent diaper rash by applying a baby diaper rash cream including any Zincofax® products to help protect the skin every time you change a diaper.
